First of all, the boys have worked in mixed groups on air pollution in the six countries that we are carrying out this Erasmus. Afterwards we have made a visit to the concentration camps of Auschwitz_Birkenau. Auschwitz I is the original concentration camp, built in 1940 to house Polish political prisoners who no longer had a place in jails. Later, gypsies, Jews, homosexuals and intellectuals, among others, began to arrive. During the visit, we were very impressed to see the belongings of the prisoners who passed through, especially the children's shoes and clothes. We have visited the gas chamber and it has been a very impressive experience. The Auswichtz-Birkenau death camp was built in 1941 about 3 kilometers from Auschwitz to carry out the "Final Solution": Nazi Germany's plan to exterminate the Jews. When you arrive at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the first thing you see is the train track that leads directly into the camp. There came the wooden wagons loaded with people, mostly Jews. It has been a terrifying experience.

This morning we visited the Osikowa Dolina center where they gave us a talk about Aspen trees (trembling poplars, so called because of the whisper of the air when it passes through their leaves). After the talk we have made a beautiful Christmas tree with bits of poplar bark. After lunch we have visited the beautiful museum of Upper Silesia in Katowice (Muzeum Slaskie) where we have been able to enjoy its permanent exhibitions, among which the following have particularly caught our attention: Upper Silesia throughout history, Polish art between 188 and 1945, Polish art after 1945, Silesian industry and the arms industry between the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the works of art, those of the painter Jan Matejko stand out.

Sosnowiec Poland: The arrival

After an early start and just over a three-hour flight, we arrived in Krakow. It's very cold and it's snowing!. Suddenly Christmas has arrived. At the airport, a teacher from the Polish institute awaits us and a minibus takes us to Sosnowiec to meet the host families and then to go to he hotel in Katowice. The landscape is beautiful and we are breathless because of the freezing weather. However, the wolcome to this country is very warm. Our students leave excited with their respective families. In the afternoon another teacher from the School show us the beautiful medieval  castle of Bedzin. The pre-Christmas atmosphere is endearing.

Thessaloniki, October 28th

¿Gracias equipo griego!

Today has been our last day in this great coty. In addition, it has coincided with the national holiday of October 28, which is a very special day for the Greeks, since it commemorates the rejection of the ultimatum that Mussolin's fascist regime gave Greece in 1940. It is for this reason that this day is known as the Day of No.

We have started the morning with activities at the school. It has been very pleasant morning where the students have  worked in groups until reching the moment of the delivery of diplomas. It has been very emotional as it was time to say googby and feelings were on the surface, as students have spent a worderful week and have consolidated friendship that we hope will last for many years. We teachers, have held a round table to close the week activities and prepare for the next mobility in Poland.

At the end of the activities, the mothers of the students had prepared a delicious buffet for us with typical dishes that we tasted while chatting with partners from other countries which enriches us as teachers. After that, we went down to the main avenue since the procession was passing with the military groups in front and there was a spectacular exhibition of small planes thas luckily we have been able to enjoy. Once finished, we have gone  to rest for a while before meeting again to have dinner an saying goodby.

Another beautiful day full of unique moments. Thak you Greek team!
