Segundo día en Sosnowiec (6/12/22)

 Esta mañana hemos visitado el centro Osikowa Dolina donde nos han dado una charla sobre los Aspen trees (álamos temblones, llamados así por el susurro del aire cuando pasa entre sus hojas). Tras la charla hemos realizado unos  preciosos árboles de Navidad con trocitos de la corteza de los álamos. Después del almuerzo hemos visitado el precioso museo de Alta Silesia en Katowice (Muzeum Slaskie) donde hemos podido disfrutar de sus exposiciones permanentes entre las que nos han llamado especialmente nuestra atención las siguientes: La Alta Silesia a lo largo de la historia, el arte polaco entre 188 y 1945, el arte polaco después de 1945, la industria de Silesia y la industria armamentística entre los siglos XIX y XX.  Entre las obras de arte destacan las del pintor Jan Matejko. 

 This morning we visited the Osikowa Dolina center where they gave us a talk about Aspen trees (trembling poplars, so called because of the whisper of the air when it passes through their leaves). After the talk we have made a beautiful Christmas tree with bits of poplar bark. After lunch we have visited the beautiful museum of Upper Silesia in Katowice (Muzeum Slaskie) where we have been able to enjoy its permanent exhibitions, among which the following have particularly caught our attention: Upper Silesia throughout history, Polish art between 188 and 1945, Polish art after 1945, Silesian industry and the arms industry between the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the works of art, those of the painter Jan Matejko stand out.
